Toni Payne’s solitary strike wins Spanish Andalusian Cup for Sevilla

Nigeria star Toni Payne played an integral role on her return to club duties as Sevilla lifted the 2023 Copa Andalucía Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol title on Sunday.
Payne came off the bench to inspire Sevilla to a 1-0 over Sporting de Huelva in the Andalusian Cup final.
The 26-year-old made an impactful return to club following her impressive outing with the Super Falcons in Australia, where she started all four Super Falcons games before the Nigerians were knocked out by the Lionesses of England via penalties in the Round of 16 of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
On the day, the former Ajax star replaced Lucía Rodríguez in the 54th minute and made a great play after a good cross from Rosa Otermín.
She latched on to the ball in the 63rd minute to put Sevilla in front and seal the win. And from then on, the Sevilla team showed itself to be more superior with actions by the Nigerian herself.
Payne is now expected to help Sevilla as they go through pre-season for their campaign in the Spanish Liga F.
