Tosan Blankson remains upbeat despite Delta Queens’ draw at Robo Queens

Tosan Blankson, the head coach of Delta Queens, offered praise to his players for their resilient performance against Robo Queens in Lagos.
The Pearls showcased their mettle, holding the Lagos Landladies to a goalless draw at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
Blankson, while acknowledging the stalemate, attributed the lack of goals to the departure of key forwards during the transfer window. However, he expressed confidence that the team would regain their stride once the Federation Cup kicks off.
Addressing the dip in form for the reigning NWFL Premiership champions, Blankson highlighted the challenge posed by the loss of key attackers.
“Our struggle began at the onset of the season when we bid farewell to several key attackers. Rebuilding was no easy feat for us. Nonetheless, we’ve been striving, and I firmly believe that as the Federation Cup commences, we’ll find our rhythm. Presently, the team is far from lacking,” Blankson shared exclusively with nigeriafootball.ng.
He elaborated further on the hurdles faced, emphasizing the disruption caused by players’ national team duties, be it at the U17 or U20 level.
“In football, challenges are par for the course. It’s not a matter of lack of preparation; rather, it’s the significant player turnover during the transfer windows. Moreover, this is the second time our players have been pulled away for national team obligations,” Blankson elaborated.
Despite the draw, Blankson remained buoyant, lauding his players for their unwavering commitment and effort on the pitch.
“Disappointment isn’t on the cards for me after that game; the players poured their hearts out,” he affirmed.
Looking ahead, Delta Queens brace themselves for a showdown with Edo Queens in Match Day week 14 of the NWFL Premiership at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on Wednesday, April 25.
