Trabzonspor unveil Mohamed Salah signing with ‘dreams come true’ video

Trabzonspor have continued their celebrations after completing the signing of Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah during the current summer transfer window, using a promotional video to taunt those who doubted the deal would happen.

Salah has signed a two-year contract with the Turkish club. He is due to receive an annual salary of 17m euros, with a further 5m euros available in additional performance-related payments.

The video, published on Trabzonspor’s Facebook account, carries the message: “To those who say, ‘You will see that only in a dream,’ dreams come true for us.”

The production centres on a woman preparing an elaborate breakfast at home while her family watches on with apparent confusion. She insists that her son will arrive and says she has dreamed of the moment.

Despite the family’s curiosity, the woman refuses to let anyone eat the food laid out on the table. She tells them to wait for the person she has been expecting, leaving the meal untouched as the family waits for the arrival promised in her dream.

A short time later, someone knocks at the front door. When the woman opens it, she finds Salah standing outside. She welcomes him warmly, saying: “My son… welcome to your new home.”

Salah then joins the family at the table and eats enthusiastically before saying goodbye and leaving for Trabzonspor training.

The club’s message is framed as a response to people who had suggested that the prospect of Salah joining Trabzonspor belonged only in the imagination. By presenting the transfer as the fulfilment of a dream, the video combines the announcement with a playful message aimed at the club’s rivals and critics.

The signing has been placed at the centre of Trabzonspor’s summer activity, with the club continuing to promote the arrival of the Egyptian international through its social-media channels. The two-year agreement, worth 17m euros in salary plus up to 5m euros in additional payments, is the basis of the deal celebrated in the video.
