Tunde Sanni confident in Kwara United’s preparedness for NPFL and CAF campaigns

By Wale Mustapha

Kwara United Technical Adviser, Tunde Sanni, has expressed confidence in the club’s readiness for the 2025/26 season, praising the efforts of his players as they continue to prepare for a challenging campaign.

The Harmony Boys are set for a demanding season, as they will not only be competing in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) but will also represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup.

As part of their preparations, the club is currently taking part in a preseason tournament in Ikenne, where Sanni believes the team is steadily improving.

“We are on the right course,” Sanni told Kwara United Media.

“It’s been steady growth and improvement so far. We’re getting better with every training session and test game.”

Sanni highlighted the club’s positive progress, particularly the seamless integration of new signings into the team’s playing style and ideology. “The new players are adapting quickly to our philosophy, and I’m confident that we will continue to improve as we edge closer to the start of the season,” he added.

With the new season fast approaching, Kwara United is not only focused on their domestic ambitions but also on their continental aspirations.

The Ilorin-based club will face Asante Kotoko of Ghana in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup, a challenge that Sanni believes will help prepare the team for the demands of the NPFL.

In the NPFL, Kwara United will kick off their campaign against Ikorodu City, a fixture that promises to test their readiness for the domestic league. “We are looking forward to the challenge,” Sanni stated.

“Every game is important, and we will approach the new season with determination and a strong work ethic.”

The 2025/26 NPFL season is set to commence on Friday, 22nd August, and Kwara United’s supporters will be hoping their team can build on their preparations and mount a serious challenge for both domestic and continental honors.
