Turkish Journalist accuses Victor Osimhen’s representatives of shady transfer plans

By Monsurah Olatunji

Turkish journalist Cem Dizdar has accused Victor Osimhen’s representatives of hiding details about the striker’s transfer plans, amid growing speculation over his future.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has enjoyed a stellar season, scoring 26 goals in 30 appearances.

His performances have bolstered his reputation ahead of the summer transfer window, with top European clubs—including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Juventus—reported to be interested in securing his services.

The 26-year-old forward was on the verge of joining Chelsea last summer, but the deal fell through, leading him to Galatasaray on a season-long loan.

The Turkish giants are now eager to sign him permanently but face stiff competition from other clubs, and must meet his €75 million release clause with Napoli to secure a permanent deal.

However, Dizdar, a journalist covering the Super Lig, has raised concerns over Osimhen’s lack of clear intent to stay at Galatasaray, suggesting that his representatives are being secretive about their plans.

“Osimhen’s manager started talking too much. If a manager starts talking too much, there are other things,” Dizdar told GsGazette.

“He is hiding things that we are trying to see. The smell will come out soon anyway. Players like Osimhen suit big clubs like Galatasaray, but they always have to think of plan B.”

Dizdar further suggested that Osimhen was not irreplaceable, pointing out that Galatasaray had already successfully replaced former striker Mauro Icardi with Osimhen.

“Nobody thought Osimhen would replace Icardi. But Galatasaray did. They will think of an alternative to Osimhen as well,” he added.

The comments come at a time when Osimhen’s future remains uncertain, with multiple clubs circling for his signature and Galatasaray hoping to keep him for the long term.
