U20 Afcon: Nigeria goalkeeper coach Baruwa speaks on Flying Eagles’ preparation

Goalkeeper coach of the Nigeria U20 men’s team, Olatunji Abideen Baruwa has opened up on when the team will resume camping and how training will follow immediately.
The Flying Eagles are preparing for the CAF U-20 AFCON next month and they will feature alongside eleven other nations will contest the 2023 edition of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
“We had much time to practice last year. It’s good to resume January 7 so that we can start preparation very early to get the team ready,” Baruwa told Brila FM.
“We have a platform that every of our players are there so we communicate through the platform. We let them know that they should not just go home and be resting but work on themselves till the camp resumes January 7.”
Nigeria will face host, Egypt, Senegal, and Mozambique in Group A and in Group B, there is Uganda, the Central Africa Republic, South Sudan, and Congo, while Group C houses Gambia, Tunisia, Benin Republic, and Zambia.
The Africa U-20 Cup of Nations will take place in Egypt from February 19 and the top four teams at the end of the tournament will qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.
