U20 Women’s World Cup: Time and where to watch Nigeria vs Venezuela

By Monsurah Olatunji

After a setback against Germany, Nigeria’s Falconets are set to take on Venezuela in a pivotal match that could determine their progression to the next phase of the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

The Falconets, who have already faced the Korean Republic and Germany, will play their third group-stage game against Venezuela.

As two-time runners-up in the tournament, Nigeria is determined to make a strong push for the title this year, aiming to rectify their performance after their recent loss.

Venezuela, on the other hand, started their campaign with a heavy 5-2 defeat to Germany and managed only a goalless draw against the Korean Republic in their second match. For Venezuela, a win is crucial to keep their qualification hopes alive, although they will also need to depend on the outcomes of other matches to secure a spot in the knockout stages.

Nigeria won their opening match 1-0 against South Korea but suffered a 3-1 defeat to Germany in their second fixture. A draw against Venezuela will be enough for the Falconets to advance to the round of 16 as one of the top two teams in the group, alongside Germany, who have already secured their place in the next stage.

The critical encounter will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Estadio Pascual Guerrero in Cali, with kickoff scheduled for 9 p.m. Nigerian time. Fans can watch the match live on FIFA Plus.
