U20 World Cup: Foreign-Based players set to join Flying Eagles camp

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
The Nigeria’s U-20 team are set to welcome their invited foreign-based players to camp this week, as preparations intensify for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Flying Eagles qualified for the tournament after securing third place at the last U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Head coach Aliyu Zubairu opened camp in Abuja earlier this month for the second phase of preparations.
The gaffer has now extended invitations to several overseas-based players following the team’s underwhelming showing in Egypt.
Among those expected to join are Wilfred George, Christian Nwachukwu, Divine Onyemaechi, and Jonathan Spiff Asuzu.
The Flying Eagles are scheduled to jet out of the country next month for the final phase of their training program. Nigeria has been drawn in Group F alongside Colombia, Norway, and Saudi Arabia.
