Uchenna Kanu Joins Cruz Azul Femenil Ahead of the Mexican Liga MX Clausura 2026

 

Cruz Azul Femenil have confirmed the signing of Nigerian forward Uchenna Kanu as a major reinforcement ahead of the Clausura 2026 season, boosting their attacking options with a proven goalscorer and international experience.

 

Kanu arrives from Racing Louisville FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States and makes her return to Liga MX Femenil, where she previously enjoyed a successful spell with Tigres Femenil.

 

During her time with the Monterrey-based club, the striker scored 22 goals in 38 appearances and played a key role in Tigres’ league title triumph.

 

The 28-year-old forward is known for her physical presence, intelligent movement and clinical finishing, attributes Cruz Azul are expected to rely on as they seek to strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign.

 

Her signing as the sixth this transfer window underlines the club’s ambition to challenge more strongly and compete at the top end of the table in the Clausura 2026.

 

On the international stage, Kanu is a regular member of the Nigeria women’s national team, bringing valuable experience from elite-level competitions.

 

With this acquisition, Cruz Azul Femenil continue to reinforce their roster and signal clear intent ahead of the new season, adding a proven attacking threat to their project.
