Uchenna Kanu: Nigeria striker wins first title with Tigres in Mexico

Nigeria forward, Uchenna Kanu and her Mexican Liga MX Apertura side, U.A.N.L Tigres on Tuesday were crowned Mexican League Champions.
Tigres defeated Club America 2-0 in the return leg of the final match to win its fifth title at the Estadio Universitario, San Nicolas de Los Garza.
Lizbeth Ovalle set the ball rolling as she scored the first goal of the game for Tigres in the 22nd minute.
Mexican midfielder, Belen Cruz double Tigres’ lead in the 50th minute to propel her side to a 3-0 aggregate win which sealed the league title.
The Super Falcons forward replaced Lizbeth Ovalle in the 46th minute and she scored six goals in 16 league games to help her side to its fifth league title.
The title was the first for Kanu in Mexico since she joined U.A.N.L Tigres from Swedish Allsvenskan side, Linkopings FC last season.
She previously played for Sevilla FC in the Spanish Primera Iberdrola before moving to Sweden to join Linkopings FC from where she completed her switch to Tigres in Mexico.
She becomes the third Nigerian woman to win a league title abroad this summer following Vivian Ikechukwu and Halimatu Ayinde with  Gintra in Lithuania and  Rosengard in Sweden respectively.
