Umar Sadiq: Nigeria striker offers positive updates on return from ACL injury

There are positive indications that Nigeria and Real Sociedad forward, Umar Sadiq could return from his anterior cruciate ligament injury earlier than scheduled.
Sadiq ruptured his achilles just weeks after joining Sociedad from Almeria last September and expected to be out for rest of the season.
When asked about his recovery, Sadiq admitted that he is likely to be back in action before the season runs out following his remarkable improvement from the rehabilitation process.
“I’ll start my rehabilitation by next month but I feel good already and will resume working on the pitch next month,” Sadiq told OwnGoalNigeria.com.
“That is way ahead of my schedule, It’s a miracle that even my doctors can’t believe. I am supposed to be out for at least six months and the doctors insist it has to be that time frame.
“However, I have been told I must be 150 per cent fit before I can return in order not to suffer a relapse, but from the look of things I will be back in eight weeks. We will see to that or maybe even earlier,” he concluded.
The 25-year-old scored on his debut for Sociedad in 1-1 draw against Athletico Madrid in September. He listed Partizan Belgrade, Rangers, Perugia and AS Roma as his former clubs.
