Chiamaka Nnadozie has expressed delight with her incredible performance that helped Paris Women FC registered their first victory in the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage.
The French capital club were rescued by the Super Falcons’ goalkeeper with her crucial saves, notably the penalty she stopped in the first half when Julie Dufour had earlier shot Paris FC to a fourth minute lead.
Gaëtane Thiney doubled the lead for the hosts two minutes later with a cool finish to erupt celebrations when the Spaniards could have halved the deficit in the 25th minute thanks to Nnadozie’s save from the spot.
The visitors would later got their consolation in the second half through Olga’s goal but no time to settle for a draw and the reigning African Goalkeeper of the Year feels the victory was needed for the team’s confidence boost.
“We’ve been training so hard to win this game today, we’ve lost two games already so we’ve been focused and the aim is to win,” the Super Falcons star told UEFA TV.
“About the penalty, I’m happy I was able to stop the ball to help my team to give them more morale to play the game.”
Nnadozie won the African best women goalkeeper of the year on Monday after her stellar performances in the outgoing year.
