Victor Boniface pleads for patience as goal drought continues for Super Eagles

By: Dayo Awoniyi

Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface, has appealed to Nigerian fans for patience, assuring them that his first goal for the Super Eagles will come soon, despite his ongoing goal drought.

Since making his debut for Nigeria in September 2023, Boniface has made 12 appearances for the national team but is yet to find the back of the net.

His lack of goals has caused some frustration among fans, but the 24-year-old remains confident that his breakthrough is imminent.

Taking to Instagram, Boniface shared a heartfelt message to Nigerian supporters, saying, “9ja plz be patient with me. The goal will come.”

This plea for patience came after Boniface played only three minutes in Nigeria’s 1-1 home draw with Zimbabwe. However, he showed his goal-scoring ability on the club front, netting his eighth Bundesliga goal against Bochum shortly after the international fixture.

Fans will be hopeful that Boniface can soon transfer his club form to the international stage and put an end to his goal drought for the Super Eagles.
