Victor Boniface secures playoff spot for Union Saint Gilloise

Nigerian attacker Victor Boniface’s assist secured a title playoff spot for his Union Saint Gilloise team on Sunday.

Boniface bounced back to impressive form from Thursday’s disappointing outing when his club Union St.Gilloise were trounced 4-1 at home by Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, forcing their exit from the UEFA Europa League.

Although the game ended in a 2-1 defeat away against Kortrijk, the Nigerian, however had a great game.

The striker has been on fire for Union Saint Gilloise, scoring 19 goals across all competitions, including 5 goals in 8 Europa League matches to propel him into the second-leading scorer in the tournament.

The forward had just one goal behind Manchester United’s forward, Marcus Rashford, in the competition.
