Victor Boniface sparks social media buzz over lighthearted exchange with food vendor

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigerian international and Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has stirred social media intrigue following a viral video featuring a playful exchange with popular Lagos-based food vendor and content creator, Phoebe Odekina Esohe Ejura, known online as @justkingphoebe___.

Currently enjoying his off-season break in Lagos, the 24-year-old Bundesliga star was seen in high spirits as he sampled a homemade meal delivered by Phoebe, whose vibrant online presence and culinary flair have earned her a growing following.

“She brought food for me and my friends and it’s actually good,” Boniface said in the video, which quickly gained traction across Instagram and TikTok. In a cheeky aside, he added, “But she forgot [to put] chicken, but no problem. The food is actually nice.”

Phoebe, in a humorous response, claimed Boniface had rushed her to deliver the meal before it was fully prepared, leading to the missing chicken. “He was disturbing me before my delivery even came in!” she joked in a follow-up clip.

The light-hearted interaction, marked by Boniface’s rarely seen playful side, has fueled playful speculation among fans about the nature of their relationship.

While neither party has indicated anything beyond friendship, the video has triggered what some users are calling a “situationship watch” online.

The Super Eagles striker, known more for his sharp finishing and laid-back demeanor, has typically kept a low profile regarding his personal life, making this public moment of levity especially notable for his supporters.

Whether the buzz is fleeting or evolves into a recurring narrative, one thing is certain: Boniface’s off-the-pitch charm has won him a few more fans ahead of the upcoming football season.
