Victor Moses Breaks Goal Drought in Chelsea’s Commanding Win Over Brighton

Super Eagles forward, Victor Moses, expressed his satisfaction after breaking his goal drought in Chelsea’s resounding 4-0 victory against Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday. Moses secured Chelsea’s fourth goal in the closing stages, capitalizing on a precise through ball from substitute Charly Musonda.

This marked Moses’s first goal since the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal in August of the previous year. The Premier League winner, buoyed by the achievement, conveyed his eagerness to contribute more goals to the team in the future.

In a statement to the Chelsea official website, Moses remarked, “It’s about time. I was due one, and I’m very pleased to get on the scoresheet. It’s important to me, and I want to keep on helping the team, working hard, and hopefully, score more goals in the future.”

While acknowledging the commendable performance of his teammates in the weekend’s triumph, Moses shifted focus to the upcoming challenge in the Carabao Cup. Chelsea is gearing up for the second leg semi-final against Arsenal at the Emirates on Wednesday.

“I thought we started very well,” Moses said. “Getting the two goals early on really helped us, and we showed great character. It was very important to get the three points.”

Reflecting on their collective effort, Moses added, “We’ve been working so hard in training, obviously on our finishing as well, and you could see that on the pitch – everybody did really well to put the ball in the net, and we’re very pleased. We also defended very well from front to back.”

The team is now eagerly anticipating the clash against Arsenal, aiming to carry the momentum forward and secure a spot in the Carabao Cup final.
