Victor Moses Earns Praise Despite Chelsea’s Defeat to Watford

In a disappointing 4-1 defeat to Watford on Monday night’s Premier League clash at Vicarage Road, Nigeria forward Victor Moses emerged as Chelsea’s standout player, according to assessments by The Mirror. Despite the team’s overall struggles, Moses received a commendable score of seven out of 10 for his performance.

The defeat piled pressure on Chelsea’s manager, Antonio Conte, as Watford secured a convincing victory over the 10-man Chelsea side, with Tiemoue Bakayoko sent off in the first half. Chelsea had hoped for a strong response after their recent 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth but failed to impress.

Although Eden Hazard managed a stunning equalizer to Troy Deeney’s opener from the penalty spot, Watford sealed their victory with goals from Daryl Janmaat, Gerard Deulofeu, and Roberto Pereyra.

The Mirror’s assessment of Moses’ performance highlighted his effectiveness in moving forward, describing him as “dangerous as anyone for the visitors.” Moses’ resilience and contribution did not go unnoticed, earning him the highest rating among Chelsea players.

Other Chelsea players struggled to make an impact, with Thibaut Courtois, Davide Zappacosta, Hazard, and N’Golo Kante all receiving a score of six. Meanwhile, David Luiz, Pedro Rodriguez, Willian, Gary Cahill, and Cesar Azpilicueta were rated five, while Bakayoko received a disappointing zero.

The defeat to Watford leaves Chelsea searching for answers and raises concerns about the team’s performance under Conte’s leadership. Despite the challenges, Victor Moses’ individual effort stands out as a silver lining in an otherwise gloomy night for the Blues.
