Victor Osimhen back in training for Napoli ahead of Inter clash

Despite being a doubt for Sunday’s clash against Inter, the African Footballer of the Year, Victor Osimhen, may still feature in the lineup.

Napoli revealed on Saturday that Osimhen briefly joined group training after initially undergoing solo sessions.

Osimhen’s history with Inter Milan is marked by an unfortunate incident in November 2021 when he suffered a broken cheekbone and multiple facial fractures during a match against them, following a collision with Milan Skriniar.

While Napoli has struggled to defend their Scudetto title, Francesco Calzona acknowledges Osimhen’s significance in their pursuit of a Champions League spot.

Despite recent goal droughts against Juventus and Torino, as well as challenges in the Champions League against Barcelona, Osimhen has managed to score four league goals since Calzona took over from Walter Mazzarri.

As Napoli gears up for the showdown at the San Siro, trailing the league leaders by 31 points, Osimhen will be eager to contribute positively and help his team secure a favorable result against Inter.
