Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen says that winning the 2023 African Cup of Nations will cap a successful career for him.
Osimhen has established himself as one of the lethal strikers in world football since joining Napoli in 2020.
The 25-year-old led the Partenopei to Serie A title last season and also finished as top scorer and also finished eighth on the 2023 Balon D’ Or ranking before claiming the year’s African Footballer of the Year.
Despite all his glories, Osimhen feels winning the AFCON title with Nigeria might just top the list and be the best of all.
“I have done that with Napoli; I have made history, but no matter what I do, no matter how many goals I have scored, to be able to win the AFCON, I would go a long way in my life but probably when I do that, I am done,” Osimhen told media.
“I am really looking forward to winning something with the Super Eagles.”
He is expected to lead the Super Eagles against Ivory Coast in their second group stage match on Thursday.
