Victor Osimhen is back to form – Napoli boss Francesco Calzona

Napoli boss, Francesco Calzona is delighted with the return to form of goal poacher, Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen has netted five goals in three matches since he returned from the 2023 AFCON including a massive hat trick in the 6-1 thrashing of Sassuolo.

Calzona believes Osimhen has returned to his best form and wasn’t in his best shape after he returned from the AFCON, while commending the positivity in the squad, eagerness to work and unity.

“Victor is returning to his levels. Clearly, he wasn’t in great shape after the Africa Cup of Nations, he was away for over a month and is slowly rediscovering his form,” Calzona was quoted by DAZN.

“Kvara also struggled, but today showed just what he can do. I sensed positivity from the first training session, the lads aways gave me their all.

“I was surprised to see how eager they were to work, to stay together, and that gave me hope.”

The Super Eagles forward have now scored 13 goals this season with four assists in 21 games.
