The WAFU B qualifier for the CAF Women’s Champions League between Nigeria’s Edo Queens and Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies will resume from extra time on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Burkina Faso, with the teams locked at 2-2.

The decision follows a protest by Ampem Darkoa after the initial encounter ended in a penalty shootout, which Edo Queens won after the referee proceeded directly to penalties without playing extra time.

Ampem Darkoa subsequently lodged a formal complaint with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), challenging the handling of the match. CAF ruled in favour of the Ghanaian side, prompting the decision to continue the fixture from extra time.

Edo Queens, through the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), challenged the protest, contesting the outcome of the complaint.

With the score tied at 2-2, the two teams are now expected to return to the pitch to play the additional period and determine the winner of the fiercely contested qualifier.

The resumption in Burkina Faso will settle the dispute surrounding the original match and determine which side advances in the race to represent the WAFU B zone at the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Both clubs will be seeking victory in a contest that has attracted attention not only for the battle on the pitch but also for the controversy surrounding the initial decision to proceed to penalties without extra time.
