Rangers International coach, Abdu Maikaba said his team got its tactics right against Kano Pillars in the Round of 32 tie of the Federation Cup.
Rangers progressed to the Round of 32 of the Federation Cup with a 2-0 win over Kano Pillars on Wednesday.
A day after, Rangers International’s survival status in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) was confirmed for next season following a 1-1 draw between Wikki Tourist and Rivers United in Bauchi.
“We knew right from the onset that it won’t be an easy match but we have tried our best despite the fatigue in us traveling far in Gombe to play against Doma United in the league at the weekend,” Maikaba told Brila FM.
“Our opponents are free at the weekend. They are so fresh. That’s why we find the match very difficult. Tactically, we got our results early and we defender very well.”
Rangers will face Nigeria champions Rivers United in its last game of the season with relegation woes behind them.
