Wilfred Ndidi on target as Leicester City get closer to Premier League promotion

Nigeria International, Wilfred Ndidi was on the scoresheet as Leicester City defeated West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Super Eagles star broke the deadlock after 22 minutes, when he finished off a rebound almost on the goaline.

The midfielder has now scored five goals in all competitions this season as ‘The Foxes’ are now two points clear of second-placed Ipswich Town with 91 points from 43 matches.

Jamie Vardy added the second 25 minutes from time following his missed penalty at the end of the first half.

The 37-year-old’s 17th goal of the season came after a barrage of Baggies chances – the visitors denied by heroic goal-line clearances and fantastic saves.

However, Jed Wallace reduced the deficit for the visitors 14 minutes from time.

Valiant defending was required to get Enzo Maresca’s men over the line – sparking scenes of real jubilation at full-time, with the Foxes nudging themselves closer to Premier League promotion.

Three huge matches await for Leicester, who next welcome Joe Aribo’s Southampton to King Power Stadium on Tuesday night in what promises to be another significant night in the second tier.
