Winning the 74th Viareggio Cup excites Beyond Limits coach Olumide Ajibolade

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Head coach of Beyond Limits Football Academy, Olumide Ajibolade is on cloud nine after winning the 74th edition of the Viareggio Cup in Italy on Monday.

Two first-half goals ensured that Remo Stars Football Club Academy emerged as winners of the tournament over fellow African side CN Brazzaville.

Ajibolade opined that the victory is a testament to the commitment of the club President, Honourable Kunle Soname to youth development.

“I know it’s going to be a party back home in Nigeria,” He said.

“This is a testament to the commitment we put into youth development and our president’s investment in the project.”

Goals from Kparobo Arierhi in the 18th minute and an own goal when Oluwaseyi Oguniyi’s cross was diverted into the net in the 26th minute lifted Beyond Limits to the title.

The team became the first African and Nigeria team to win the tournament. Coach Ajibolade emerged as the coach of the tournament for the second time after winning the award in 2022.

He has led the team to 14-game unbeaten run in regulation time at the Viareggio Cup.
