Wisdom Ndon: Akwa United can overcome Enugu Rangers with determination and focus

Akwa United defender Wisdom Ndon believes his team can overcome the reigning Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, Enugu Rangers, in their upcoming Matchday Eight clash on Monday.
Speaking ahead of the match, Ndon emphasized the importance of mental strength, commitment, and focus for his side to achieve success.
The Promise Keepers secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Abia Warriors on Wednesday, ending a winless streak that had left them in a precarious position on the league table.
Ndon acknowledged the challenging start to the season but expressed confidence that the team can turn things around, starting with the game against Rangers at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
“It’s been a difficult start to the season for us, and our position on the log is not comfortable at all,” said Ndon. “It’s unbelievable that we have just one win in seven matches, and I can say that our statistics so far do not really reflect our efforts in those matches.”
The experienced defender also noted that the team has taken time to reflect on their performances and has resolved to approach every game with renewed determination.
“We have taken time to look back on the previous games we have played, and as a team, we have resolved that we have to make it count by approaching every match with commitment, determination, and focus.”
Ndon expressed appreciation for the support from Akwa United fans, particularly after their recent victory over Kano Pillars.
“Let me specifically appreciate all our fans for their wonderful support during our last match because they charged up the atmosphere and made us feel really at home throughout the match,” he said.
He called on the fans to continue their support, promising that the team would strive to make them proud once again. “I’m appealing to all our fans to continue to support us, and we will make them proud again,” he added.
Akwa United will aim to build on their momentum as they face a tough test against Enugu Rangers, who are coming off a strong campaign as the defending champions.
