By Saheed Afolabi
Nigeria international, Moses Simon has apologized to fans over the players charismatic below par performance in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles were forced to a 1-1 draw against lowly rated Lesotho and Zimbabwe in crucial World Cup qualifying matches.
Simon said, the result was far from the expectations and promised the Nigeria fans of improved performance in subsequent matches.
The Nantes forward promised that the players would reflect on their woeful showings and raise the bar in their next outings.
“Not the result we wanted but we will surely bounce back. Big apologies to our fans, you deserve better than the performance against Lesotho and Zimbabwe,” Simon was quoted by X.
“We have overcome so many challenges in the past. And now is the time to reflect and come back stronger.”
The Super Eagles are second on the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with two points from two matches as they trail table toppers, Rwanda with two points.
