Zaidu Sanusi: Nigerian defender makes FC Porto’s Champions League roster against Royal Antwerp

By Wale Mustapha

Nigerian defender, Zaidu Sanusi will be making a return from long lay off injury when FC Porto take on Belgian side, Royal Antwerp in the Matchday Four of UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles’ left back suffered a foot injury in September during Porto’s Champions League opener against Shakhtar Donetsk missing eight games in the process.

The 27 year old defender has since returned from the layoff and is in contention for today’s encounter at the Estadio De Dragao and Porto manager, Sergio Conceicao says Sanusi will be available for the upcoming showdown.

“Zaidu is available, the others injured did not,” Conceicao told media. He continued: “After the game with Vitória we will have a break and then we will be able to recover more players.”

Sanusi played four games for Porto before his unfortunate injury and started in all. He is likely to be handed another start in Tuesday’s encounter as his counterpart for the same wing, Wendell is out injured.
