₦2bn landmark deal ushers in broadcast and data revolution for NPFL

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has entered a new commercial era after sealing a groundbreaking ₦2 billion partnership that will reshape the league’s broadcast and data ecosystem.
The five-year deal, signed with Inview Technologies Nigeria Limited and AS Production Hub Limited, includes an ₦800 million upfront activation payment, representing one of the most significant financial commitments in the history of Nigerian club football.
Under the agreement, NPFL matches will be broadcast on free-to-air television and streamed across multiple digital platforms, dramatically expanding access for fans nationwide and abroad.
At the official signing ceremony, NPFL Chairman Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye described the deal as a crucial step toward making the league more accessible, profitable, and globally relevant.
“We want every Nigerian household — from rural communities to major cities — to enjoy quality NPFL content,” Elegbeleye said. “This is about accessibility, innovation, and building a product that attracts consistent fan engagement.”
He emphasized that the partnership is part of a wider strategy to unbundle NPFL’s commercial rights and attract multiple investors.
“This is just one part of a larger process. Other broadcasters are welcome. More partners mean more revenue, greater coverage, and stronger growth for our clubs and players,” he added.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, praised the NPFL’s leadership for driving reform and sustainability in the domestic game.
“What the NPFL is doing now may not yield instant gratification, but it is laying the right foundation for a commercially vibrant and globally competitive league,” Gusau said.
In a second announcement, the NPFL unveiled a ₦600 million strategic data partnership with Round Up Technology, featuring an annual ₦140 million component for player data, match analytics, and performance metrics. It marks the first time the league will generate structured income from data monetization.
The signing ceremony attracted top officials from Nigeria’s media and communication sectors, including NBC Director-General Charles Ebuebu, NOA Director-General Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, and Voice of Nigeria DG Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace.
With broadcast unbundling, data commercialization, and digital integration now in motion, the NPFL appears poised for its most transformative chapter yet — one that could redefine how Nigerian football is viewed, valued, and enjoyed.
