Victor Osimhen Bags Two Assists As Galatasaray Thrash Juventus
Nigeria international Victor Osimhen delivered another influential performance, registering two assists as Galatasaray S.K. recorded an emphatic 5–2 victory over Juventus F.C. in the UEFA Champions League Playoffs on Tuesday.
Although Osimhen did not get on the scoresheet, the Super Eagles forward was instrumental in attack, playing decisive roles in Galatasaray’s fourth and fifth goals. His movement, physical presence, and creativity consistently unsettled his former Serie A opponents in a commanding display from the Turkish champions.
The brace of assists marked the second time in less than a week that Osimhen has achieved the feat — a significant milestone for the striker, who had never previously recorded two assists in a single match during his professional career.
Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara led the scoring with a double, while Noa Lang, Davinson Sánchez, and Sacha Boey each found the net to complete Galatasaray’s five-goal haul.
Juventus responded through a brace from Teun Koopmeiners, but the Italian giants struggled to cope with the hosts’ attacking intensity throughout the contest.
The visitors’ problems worsened in the 67th minute when Juan Cabal was shown a second yellow card, reducing Juventus to ten men and effectively ending any hopes of a comeback.
The result underlined Galatasaray’s attacking strength and further highlighted Osimhen’s growing influence beyond goalscoring, as the Nigerian star continues to expand his all-around contribution in Istanbul.
