13 goals in 10 starts! Asisat Oshoala bags consecutive hat-trick in Barcelona triumph

Nigeria forward Asisat Oshoala made it back-to-back hat trick in Barcelona 6-0 thrashing of UDG Tenerife in a Spanish Liga F encounter on Sunday.
The Super Falcons forward had inspired Barcelona to a world record 50 straight wins against Levante Las Palnas in the Spanish topflight five days ago and she continued in her rich vien of form on the Canary Islands based outfit.
Claudia Pina opened the scoring for the visitors as early as the fifth minute of play from Patricia Guijarro’s assist.
Three minutes later, the record five-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year winner doubled the lead before Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic set the Nigerian star up for the Blaugrana’s third goal in the 12th minute.
The former FC Robo Queens and Rivers Angels star completed her hat-trick with her second brilliant header in the 27th minute to ensure the Catalans raced into a four-goal lead.
On the brink of half time, Aitana Bonmati added the fifth for the 2020 European Champions with a superb finish.
After a ruthless first half, the Spanish champions could not add another until deep inside additional time when Lucy Bronze notched the sixth of the match to complete the rout.
Oshoala saw 61 minutes of action before she was replaced by Spanish defender Emma Ramirez Gorgoso after increasing her goal tally to 13 in 10 league starts this season. She currently seats in the second position on the top Spanish goalscorer chart, two goals behind Levante’s Redondo Ferer.
Her compatriot, Gift Monday who came on as a second half subsitute UDG Tenerife when she replaced fellow African and Ivorian Ange Koko Nguessan in the 46th minute could not rescue his side from heavy defeat.
Barcelona with a maximum of 48 points after 16 games top the log and extend its winning streak to 51 games. The Spanish leaders will next face Valencia on February 2 before the FIFA international break.
