2023/24 NWFL Premiership: Delta Queens to open title defence against Ekiti Queens

Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership holders, Delta Queens will open their title defence against debutant, Ekiti Queens.
The game which will take place on November 15 will be the first league encounter between both sides.
Tosan Blankson’s side will hope to start the title on a positive note away from home in Ekiti after missing out on qualification for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League.
The encounter has been designated as the star match of the opening day of the 2023/2024 NWFL Premiership.
2022 champions, Bayelsa Queens will start their quest to reclaim the title away from home against Sunshine Queens of Akure.
The last time the Prosperity Girls visited Akure, they returned to Yenegoa with a 3-0 win on December 8, 2021.
2021 league winners, Rivers Angels are also on the road against debutant, Lakeside Queens in Ikenne, Ogun State.
This will also be the first league encounter between the two teams, while Confluence Queens welcome another debutants, Dannaz Ladies to Lokoja.
Naija Ratels in Abuja will host Nasarawa Amazons rekindling the 1-0 away win for the Solid Miners the last time out on January 26, 2022.
Abia Angels and Adamawa Queens will trade tackles in another opening-day match. Nkechi Agams scored the winning goal when both sides met in Umuahia last season on January 4, 2023.
Meanwhile, Royal Queens will be the guests of Heartland Queens in Owerri.
Ugobest Osuji converted the winning goal when Heartland secured a 1-0 win over the Canadian Geese last season in Umuahia.
Edo Queens and FC Robo Queens will also settle scores at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, a repeat of a 2-0 win for Edo Queens last season at home on March 29, 2023.
All 16 teams in the league for the next season will take their fight to the field of play when the 2023/2024 campaign gets underway on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.
