2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Jose Peseiro to unveil Nigeria squad for Guinea Bissau clash

Head coach of Nigeria’s senior men’s national team, Jose Peseiro is expected to announce his squad list for this month’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers doubleheader with Guinea Bissau on Wednesday.

The three-time African champions are scheduled to welcome Guinea Bissau on March 24 and the former Colombia gaffer is expected to release his roster this week.

The anticipated roster is expected to feature bulk of players who played in a 4-0 loss to Portugal last November as sources indicated that Portuguese tactician is keen to seeing invited players in Abuja from Sunday, March 19.

“Peseiro will unveil his 22-man list this week and all invited players are expected to start arriving from Sunday,” the source revealed.

Meanwhile, Guinea Bissau has released its squad list for the two-legged encounter ahead of the three-time African Champions.

The first encounter will take place in Abuja on March 24 before the return leg three days later.

Super Eagles top Group A with six points after two games ahead of Guinea Bissau (4 points), and victory in the next two games will seal a place at AFCON 2024 with games to spare.
