2023 African Games: Christopher Danjuma calls 23 Falconets to camp

Nigeria’s U20 girls are also set to resume camping in Abuja on Thursday to commence preparations for the 13th African Games scheduled for the Ghanaian capital, Accra next month.

Falconets’ Head Coach Chris Musa Danjuma, who has led his 2022 World Cup quarter-finalists to earn a ticket to this year’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup finals in Colombia, has called up 23 players.

The invited players to women’s teams have been advised to report at the Agete Luxury Hotel in Gwarinpa Estate, Abuja on Thursday, 15th February 2024.

The Falconets will square up to Morocco, Senegal, and Cameroon in the group stage of the 13th African Games (formerly All-Africa Games).

The Nigerian girls won the gold medal the last time out in Rabat, Morocco during the last African Games.

The team has also qualified for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

With the African Games, a veritable preparation ground has been set for the Falconets ahead of the World Cup.

With two silver medals at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, the team is favourites to retain their African Games gold medal in women’s football.
