Christopher Danjuma, the head coach of Nigeria’s women’s U-20 team, expressed his profound satisfaction following their commanding victory, highlighting their unwavering pursuit of excellence.
The Falconets secured their spot in the semi-final of the women’s football event at the 13th African Games after a resounding 4-0 triumph over Senegal in their second group match.
Danjuma was thrilled with the outcome, stating, “Our mentality coming into this game was to improve on the Morocco game by three times. We needed to keep going till it was beyond their reach.”
Danjuma’s ambition for his team shines through as he sets his sights on the ultimate prize, expressing his desire to face Ghana in the final.
The Falconets, quarter-finalists in the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, had previously defeated Morocco 2-0 in their opening group fixture.
Their journey continues as they prepare to face the runners-up from Group A in the semi-final, aiming to defend the gold medal they clinched in Rabat, Morocco, during the 2019 edition of the tournament.
