2023 Federation Cup: Rivers Angels shouldn’t be written off – boasts Edwin Okon

Rivers Angels head coach, Edwin Okon has boasted that his club should not be written off in the race for the Federation Cup glory.
The Jewel of Rivers forced Delta Queens to a barren draw in the all Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership quarterfinal clash before they secured a 3-1 win on penalties at Enyimba International stadium, Aba on Thursday.
Following the triumph, the former Super Falcons coach expressed joy over his side’s progression, while warning his rivals not to underestimate them in the upcoming games as well as the NWFL Premiership Super 6.
“I am the happiest man today because this wasn’t an easy game, it was a hard fought victory, ” Okon told club media.
:My girls gave everything in today’s encounter and had chances to wrap up the game in regulation period but the goals failed to come.
“The substitution we made added more impact in the game however we were unable to capitalise on our chances despite having more advantage over Delta Queens.
“No one should write off Rivers Angels, as you can see, we started very badly but have so far made it to the NWFL Super 6 and now to the Semifinal of the Federation Cup.”
The pride of Port-Harcourt will face Nasarawa Amazons in the semifinal of the Federation Cup.
