2024/25 NPFL MD2 Wrap: North Central derby ends in stalemate on Super Sunday

On Sunday, four out of five matches in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) ended in draws as Matchday Two continued.
In the North Central derby, Niger Tornadoes and Nasarawa United played to a 0-0 stalemate.
In Uyo, Akwa United salvaged a 1-1 draw against Abia Warriors, with Ezekiel Edidiong scoring in added time to cancel out Adejoh Ojonugwa’s earlier goal.
Bayelsa United also finished 1-1 with Kano Pillars in Yenagoa. Auwalun Ali Malam’s opener for Kano Pillars was equalized by Rabiu Abdullahi.
Shooting Stars Sports Club drew 1-1 with Plateau United in Ibadan. Victor Dawa and Onwuansanya Uche scored in the last eight minutes of the first half, ensuring both teams shared the points.
The only victory of the day came from the match between Katsina United and Bendel Insurance. Katsina United secured a 2-1 win, thanks to goals from Bello Lukman and Falolu Azeez, while James Oronsaye scored for Bendel Insurance.
Remo Stars lead the league table with two wins from two matches, followed by Kano Pillars, Rivers United, Niger Tornadoes, and Plateau United, all of whom have four points.
Enyimba FC, Rangers International, Lobi Stars, El-Kanemi Warriors, Kwara United, and Ikorodu City each have one outstanding game.
