For second straight matchdays, holders, Edo Queens played out a 1-1 draw in the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.

Dannaz Ladies forced the defending champions to a 1-1 draw at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, a week after a similar scoreline with Remo Stars Ladies in Benin City.

Moses Aduku’s side went ahead thanks to Goodness Osigwe in the 18th minute.

Omotoke Ogunfuwa restored parity with 20 minutes remaining on the clock to ensure that both sides shared spoils.

In Ikenne, Remo Stars Ladies upended Heartland Queens 4-1 to go ahead of Edo Queens to the top of Group A.

Former Osun Babes player Kafayat Bashiru opened scoring for the Sky Blue Ladies in the 29th minute, only for Monica Matthew to equalize for Obi Ogbala’s side in the 32nd minute.

Bolaji Olamide, who has scored in Wemimo Mathew’s side’s last three games, restored their lead in the 55th minute.

Three minutes later, Deborah Kehinde extended the lead for the host.

Olamide’s second goal of the game sealed a 4-1 victory.

In Yenegoa, Bayelsa Queens defeated Adamawa Queens 3-0 courtesy of goals from Vera Samuel, Cynthia Mega, and Rose Ekong.

In the second match played in Lagos, FC Robo Queens and Naija Ratels played out a 2-2 draw.

Opeyemi Ajakaye had given the Lagos Landladies the lead in the third minute only for Jenat Ikpa to level the scoreline in the 25th minute.

On the half-hour mark, Tunmininu Adeshina stunned the home fans by putting the visitors ahead.

Eight minutes after the hour mark, Rodiat Yusuf equalized for Emmanuel Osahon’s side to make it 2-2.

The draw was the third for Naija Ratels after four games this season.

After three matches without a win, Ibom Angels, which is returning to the top flight, finally secured their first win of the campaign.

The Orange Ladies edged newcomers Benue Queens 2-1 in Uyo.

Goals from Wami Georgeline and Kelechi Chukwunlem ensured that Anastasia Emefo’s goal for Benue Queens was not enough to prevent the visitors from their fourth straight loss.

In Lafia, Nasarawa Amazons secured their third win of the season after a 2-0 success over Ekiti Queens.

Kesiena Ojiyovwi and Janet Akekeromowei scored for the Solid Babes.

Mary Lucky became the second player in the league this season to score a hat trick after Adamawa Queens’ Omon Afensimi.

The three goals from the former Heartland Queens player lifted Abia Angels to a 3-0 victory against Confluence Queens compounding the travelers to their fourth straight loss.

The only away win of Matchday 4 was recorded in Asaba, where Rivers Angels pipped Delta Queens 2-1.

Favour Dagogo thought her 18th-minute goal would help the host secure a win only for goals from Patience Otubo and Mary Moses in either half to propel the Jewels of Rivers to their third win of the season.

With the Super Six Playoffs places still up for grabs, teams continue to jostle for their survival and quest to win the title when Matchday Five takes place next week.
