Nigeria’s senior women’s national team will face Cape Verde in the second round of 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers in November.

Cape Verde had won 3-0 in the first leg at home before completing the double with a 3-2 second leg triumph in the return leg to progress 6-2 on aggregate for Cape Verde on Tuesday.

Evy Pereira, Alcione Gomes, and Kleydiana Borges scored for Cape Verde while Pauline Agbotsu and Hawa Kpan converted for Liberia.

Super Falcons made it to the Second Round without kicking a ball after Sao Tome and Principe withdrew from the Qualifiers.

The Second Round clash between Nigeria and Cape Verde will take place in November 2023.

The winner of the two-legged tie will qualify for the 2024 WAFCON which will be hosted in Morocco.

Morocco hosted the last edition in 2022 where South Africa won their first African title.

Nigeria has won nine of the past 12 editions of the tournament which officially stated in 1998.
