Cape Verde women’s national team are set to land in Nigeria on Tuesday ahead of Thursday’s 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Qualifiers with Nigerian counterparts.
The Cape Verde Football Federation (Federacao Cabo-verdiana de Futebol) confirmed this on their social media handle on Monday, with the team training in Senegal for some days in preparation for the first leg of the final round of qualifiers.
The Super Falcons will host the first leg of the fixture against their counterparts from Cape Verde at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Thursday, 30th November.
The second leg of the encounter is scheduled for the Santiago-Estadio Nacional Blue Shark in Praia on Tuesday, 5th December.
To reach the final round, the Central Africans accomplished a commanding 6-2 aggregate win over their counterparts from Liberia to set up a tie with the nine-time African champions.
The first leg in Praia ended 3-0 before a 3-2 second leg win over in Monrovia.
