2025 CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers Draw Shifted to August 5

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
The much-anticipated draw for the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers, initially scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed to August 5.
The draw will determine the paths for clubs across the various sub-regions—including WAFU-B, WAFU-A, COSAFA, CECAFA, UNAF, and UNIFFAC—as they vie for spots in the fifth edition of the continent’s elite women’s club competition.
Nigerian champions Bayelsa Queens, who will represent the country at the WAFU-B Zonal Qualifiers in Côte d’Ivoire, will now learn their opponents just four days before kickoff.
The tournament kicks off on August 9, with the “Prosperity Girls” aiming to become the first Nigerian team to win the WAFU-B title twice, having first done so in 2022.
Despite Nigeria’s dominance at the national level—with the Super Falcons winning a record 10 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) titles out of 13 editions—no Nigerian club has yet lifted the CAF Women’s Champions League.
