LaLiga: Sevilla sweat over Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke’s fitness shead of Elche clash

Sevilla could be without Nigerian duo Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke when they face Elche in their upcoming LaLiga fixture at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium.
Adams is still in a race against time to prove his fitness and may only return after the Elche game, though he has not been completely ruled out. Ejuke, however, is confirmed unavailable.
The club’s medical team disclosed that Ejuke has sustained a myofascial injury in the hamstring of his left thigh, ruling him out once again.
The winger has endured a difficult spell at Sevilla, with injuries frequently stalling his progress. Last year, he was sidelined for three months with a similar problem, and the recurrence has fueled concerns over his long-term fitness.
Since arriving in the summer of 2024, Ejuke has spent more time in the treatment room than on the pitch, frustrating both the club and fans who see him as a player with the skill and creativity to add much-needed spark to Sevilla’s attack.
Coach Matías Almeyda’s squad has been hit by multiple injuries, and Ejuke’s continued absence adds further strain ahead of a crucial run of fixtures.
