2026 FIFA WCQ: South Africa commences preparations for Nigeria clash

The Bafana Bafana of South Africa have begins preparation for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria on Friday, Nigeriafootball.ng reports.

According to information revealed on the team’s official X handle, all the invited 23 players participated in their opening training on Monday.

The team is expected to travel to Nigeria via a chartered flight later on Wednesday this week.

The contingent will land in Lagos before connecting another flight to Uyo.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) is yet to release the team’s full itinerary for the trip to Nigeria.

The encounter is slated for Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday by 8pm.
