2026 World Cup: Kenneth Omeruo backs Eagles bounce back from Qatar miss

Nigeria defender, Kenneth Omeruo has backed the national team to win their FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
After missing out on the last FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the Super Eagles will begin their quest to the next world again Zimbabwe and Lesotho.
Omeruo urged teammates to stick to the game plan in order to win their first two matches, assuring that Nigeria will take the qualifying matches serious to avoid back-to-back miss.
“We’ve played Lesotho and Zimbabwe in the past but the important thing is to stick to our game plan and take the game very serious because we have to win both games,” Omeruo told NFF TV.
“We are looking forward to it, it’s an important one for us, we missed out at the last World Cup so this is a serious matter for us.
“We are here to do what we have to do to get the ticket for the next World Cup.
“It was my dream to play in the World Cup, the atmosphere is amazing, there’s no other compared to it. For the young players it’s something they have to witness.
“It is an amazing tournament, it’s amazing to see Nigerians traveling all over the world to see us so I’m looking forward to another World Cup.”
The Super Eagles will lock horns with Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Thursday, November 16.
