2026 World Cup qualifier: Eagles are focused on the task ahead – Awaziem

Nigeria defender, Chigozie Awaziem says the players are focused on the task ahead as they leave no stone unturned in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying series.
The Super Eagles will trade tackles with Lesotho on Thursday, November 16 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
Awaziem revealed the Eagles are in high shape and preparing very well for the tricky tie against the Likuena, nothing that it’s the dream of the players to be at the World Cup and they are working towards making it a reality.
“It was a wonderful session today. We are all preparing for the first game in the qualifiers,” Awaziem was quoted by NFF.
“We all want to go to the World Cup, it’s our dream, Nigerians want to see us there and we are towards qualifying as well.
“We will work hard to get maximum points in these two games and then focus on the other games. All the boys are battle ready and focus on the the task ahead.”
After the encounter with Lesotho, Nigeria will head to Huye to face Zimbabwe in their next World Cup qualifiers game on Sunday, November 19.
