2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Eight early birds open Super Eagles camp for South Africa

The camp of Nigeria’s senior men’s national team opened with eight players on Saturday.
The early arrivals to camp include two home-based and six foreign-based players.
Remo Stars Sodiq Ismail and Rangers International Kenneth Igboke made players from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Foreign-based players include Benjamin Tanimu, Ibrahim Olawoyin, Stanley Nwabali, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Dele Bashiru.
More players are expected to arrive at camp as the team starts preparation for their next two crucial World Cup Qualifiers against South Africa and the Benin Republic.
The first match with the Bafana Bafana will take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital on June 7.
On the other hand, the second match against Benin Republic is billed for Stade Felix Houphpouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire on June 10.
The game will be the first between the Super Eagles and their former coach, Gernot Rohr who is now in charge of the Benin Republic national team.
