Nigerian defender Igho Ogbu is confident that the Super Eagles can break their winless streak against Rwanda when the two sides meet in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Friday.
The Super Eagles have failed to defeat Rwanda in their previous three attempts in Kigali, with all matches ending in draws or losses.
However, Ogbu, who plays for Slavia Prague, believes Nigeria has what it takes to secure a vital victory in the Matchday 5 clash at the Amahoro Stadium.
“I think we can do it; we just have to work hard in training, and everything will be good on matchday,” Ogbu told Ojb Sports.
“They are the ones under pressure, to impress the fans and prove their status on the log. For us, it’s about focusing on our approach, and I think it should work for us.”
With Nigeria needing a win to boost their World Cup qualification hopes, Ogbo and the Super Eagles will be looking to secure three points in this crucial encounter to strengthen their position in Group L.
Friday’s match will kick off at 5:00 PM Nigeria time at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali.
With Ogbu’s positive outlook and determination, the Super Eagles will be hoping to make history by ending their winless run against the Amavubi and taking a step closer to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
