By Saheed Afolabi
Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi will be missing in action when Nigeria faces Lesotho and Zimbabwe in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
The Super Eagles holding midfielder haven’t played for the Foxes in two games following a muscle injury which he’s yet to recover from.
Confirming the injury information, Leicester City boss, Enzo Maresca said Ndidi will be back from injury after the international break.
He disparaged the ambiguity of the injury and revealed that the club doesn’t want to take risks with it.
“Wilf will be out until the international break. It is also a muscular problem,”Maresca was quoted by Leicester City.
”It’s a small thing but when the problem is muscular, even if it’s small, it’s always one week or two weeks because we don’t want to take any risks.”
Ndidi joins Osimhen on the treatment table with his last action coming against Mozambique.
Nigeria duo of Semi Ajayi and Bruno Onyemaechi will undergo a late fitness test to ascertain their availability for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier double header game against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
The Super Eagles will engage the Crocodiles on Thursday, November 17 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, while the Huye stadium in Rwanda will host Zimbabwe game against Nigeria on Sunday, November 19.
