A groundbreaking milestone was reached as 30 women coaches proudly received their CAF C-License following the completion of a three-module training program.

The journey began in July and culminated in a vibrant closing ceremony in Abuja on Saturday, organized by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

This historic coaching course featured participation from numerous former stars of the Super Falcons, who engaged in both intensive classroom instruction and on-field training.

After each of the first two modules, the coaches undertook internships with various clubs, culminating in examinations during the third module at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project at the MKO Abiola National Stadium.

During the closing ceremony, NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau encouraged the participants to remain proactive and apply their newly acquired knowledge to benefit their communities.

He expressed his aspiration to see women coaches making significant contributions, even within men’s teams, highlighting the importance of their achievements.

“We are eager to see you utilize what you’ve learned,” Gusau stated. “The NFF will collaborate with state Premier League clubs to integrate you into their systems for further technical development.

“My dream is to witness young women coaches giving instructions from the dugout of men’s teams, and I am committed to making this a reality during my tenure.”

NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi also addressed the graduates, urging them to apply their knowledge effectively and represent their country with pride.

“It’s not enough to hold a certificate; we expect you to be excellent ambassadors for Nigeria, making the NFF and organizations like FIFA and CAF proud of this initiative,” he emphasized.

The event was attended by notable figures including NFF Technical Director Coach Augustine Eguavoen, Deputy Director Technical Mrs. Faith Ben-Anuge, Chairman of the Benue State Football Association Barr. Paul Edeh, and Chairman of Lobi Stars FC Dr. Phillip Nongu.

Among the awardees were several former players from Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, who are now poised to transition from the field to coaching, eager to share their expertise and inspire future generations.
