Nigeria head coach, Jose Peseiro has admitted that handling the national team is a tough task ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
Peseiro will be leading the Super Eagles to the AFCON in Ivory Coast as they challenge 31 other countries for the trophy.
In defense of his players, Peseiro believes playing for Nigeria isn’t an easy but a difficult task where fans wants the best result, stressing that he is focusing more getting improved results at the tournament.
“To play for Nigeria is not easy, 200 million football fans want to win and we need to answer with good results on the pitch,” Peseiro told the Press.
“Money and bonuses should be the last discussion, we need good results first. We all need money, but money is the last discussion. I don’t discuss my salary and bonuses with the media.
“I don’t speak about our last results, I speak about how we can improve our results. We create always and we need that balance.
“We will give our best in tomorrow’s game. I’m not under pressure and we will do the best on the pitch.”
The Super Eagles will kickoff their AFCON journey by trading tackles with Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, January 14.
