Former Nigeria star Segun Odegbami has basked the Super Eagles to see off their counterpart from Cameroon in the Round of 16 showdown in the Africa Cup of Nations in Abidjan on Saturday.
The two African powerhouses will do battle in the knockout stage of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium – a rematch of Egypt 2019 edition which ended 3-2 in favour of Nigeria.
The same stadium was where Cameroon won their first AFCON title against Nigeria and the former Super Eagles star believes the West African will get the win against their arch-rival from Central African.
The “Mathematician” as fondly called, who was the hero of Nigeria’s 1980 AFCON victory attributes his confidence to the quality of the turf which he feels will favour Super Eagles’ style of play.
“I can tell you without blinking that this game against Cameroon will be our easiest game,” Odegbami told Vanguard.
“It’s going to be a war. There’s not going to be an easy game, especially in the knockout stages
“I have unflagging confidence that this team will do it again.”
